Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, Chomanese Roberts, has been working in the mental health field with children/youth and their families for over 12 years. She has worked at all levels of treatment, including outpatient, community-based, residential treatment, and hospitalization.
Chomanese enjoys working with school –aged children, adolescents and young adult. Her experience with children and adolescents includes treating ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment disorders, Substance abuse and youth struggling with anger management. Her warm, humorous, and active style is particularly effective with children whom have been exposed to trauma, abuse, or neglect.
Most recently, she served as a Program Therapist at a Level 14 Residential Treatment Facility for at-risk youth. Her primary duties were to provide individual, group and family therapy from a strength-based, trauma informed lens. Chomanese assisted clients in building resiliency and developing appropriate coping mechanisms to help them manage stress and anxiety.
Chomanese graduated from University of San Francisco in 2005 with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. She was licensed in 2007. Chomanese comes from a strength-based, Trauma Informed approach to health and healing. Chomanese enjoys working with multi-cultural and multi-ethnic clients.
Her personal experience of being a mother of three school-aged boys and being a cancer survivor has helped to enhance both her empathy and clinical skills.
